Southern Cruisers Riding Club
of Canada
In Remembrance:
Frederick Brack SCC #328121
July 16, 1959 - July 17, 2009
Member of Barrie Ont. Chapter #328

Freddy Brack's passion was
living large - and riding. (aka FreezinFred) was a member of Southern
Cruisers 328, Los Silverados, and Volusia Riders International.
He was a good friend to
everyone he met and was always willing to lend a hand - especially if it was
to build something. Rarely did he miss a Wednesday ride.
Fred and his wife Paddy were enjoying family, friends,
careers and pets when in the fall of 2004 Fred seemed to get a flu bug
that he couldn't shake. On February 22, '05 and barely able to get out of
bed, he was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia and immediately admitted into
Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. By May he was finally in remission
and able to go home to Thornton.
Life was good and the bike got lots of miles until
September '06 when several Southern Cruisers brothers escorted him (all on
bikes) back to Princess Margaret Hospital for a stem cell transplant. Life
changed and Fred fought infection after infection.
Although they said it was initially a success, major
general damage was caused and by November 08 Fred was admitted into
Barrie Hospital with major brain damage and a very compromised immune
system. Paddy was at his side every day as his mind and body
deteriorated.
On July 17, 2009, 1 day after his 50th birthday, Fred
passed away in Penetang General Hospital.
The oncologists at Princess Margaret Hospital performed an
autopsy. Fred's legacy will be that hopefully they can prevent others from
going through the immense pain and fear that he and Paddy battled for almost 5
years.
