In Remembrance:

Ronald Freeburn SCC #356056

Member of Muskoka Chapter 356

Ronald  Freeburn
Ron passed away at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on Monday December 15, 2008 with his family at his side.  Ron will be dearly missed by his wife Phyllis and their children and grandchildren.
Muskoka Chapter 356 has lost a beloved friend and member to cancer. Ron passed away just three short months after being diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer.
Ron always had a passion for motorcycles but it wasn't until his 70th birthday that he purchased his cherished bike and got his motorcycle license.  Ron immediately joined the Muskoka Chapter of the SCRC.  Like so many other members it became his second family and an amazing experience. Ron was a very active member of the club. Ron gained the respect of all the members and always held a spot in everyones heart.
Ron was very instrumental in raising funds for his favorite ride "Ride for Dad" which raised money for prostate cancer.  Ron was a four year survivor of this cancer.  A group from the Muskoka Chapter would go down to the ride held at the OPP Headquarters in Orillia where approximately 600 bikes would gather and ride to raise money.
Muskoka Chapter 356 took part in Ron's Celebration of Life Service January 3, 2009.  Members marched into the hall in their full leathers wearing for the first time badges on their jackets placed over their hearts which read "In loving memory of our friend Ron Freeburn."  Ron's cherished bike will have a new driver at its controls this spring. Ron's oldest son Dan will be at those controls.  The club presented Dan with a badge to wear which read "In loving memory of my Dad, Ron Freeburn"

Ron may not be with us in the physical form anymore but he is here spiritually. Phyllis has had several signs from Ron showing that he is around and well. One sign showed Phyllis his passion for biking. She came home on Christmas Eve Day to find Ron's SCRC ball cap laying in the middle of the laundry room floor. When Phyllis left the house it was the only item on a shelf.
Muskoka Chapter salutes Ron. We love and miss our dear friend.
